The Chiropractic educational community recognized the need for expanding its specialized training and in 1979 initiated a three-year post-doctoral course in Clinical Neurology. Board Certified Chiropractic Neurologists are Doctors of Chiropractic who have completed post-doctoral training in clinical neurology whose program is approved by the Continuing Education Committee of the Commission for the Accreditation of Graduate Education in Neurology. The diplomat program requires a minimum of 300 credit hours and competency in written and practical examinations administered by the ACNB. Currently certified Chiropractic Neurologists must obtain 30 approved chiropractic neurologic credits per year. The ACNB is the only specialty-certification agency for the Chiropractic profession that is fully accredited by the National Commission for Certification Agency, the accreditation body of the National Organization for Competency Assurance, the leader in setting quality standards for credentialing organizations.
